Mexican Banded Geckos
For a basic guide to care view the Mexican Banded Gecko Caresheet. For more detailed information select from the drop-down menus below
Mexican Banded Geckos (Coleonyx
mitratus) originate from south-western United States and Mexico.
They are more challenging to keep than leopard geckos, but fair
very well in captivity under the right conditions. Although they
are very closely related to leopard geckos, they vary
dramatically in both environment and size, reaching an average
length of 4 inches. Their environment differs in that they
originate from a very humid environment, therefore moisture and
a good supply of water is essential.
